Please use build #183, this one is obsolete (and is known not to work with 175...)

I to have the Garmin Venture HC and am not able to transfer information to or from the device using Maccaching. I am able to do it using the Garmin software.

My specs are the same as the others that have posted this problem. Mac running leopard 10.5.4 and the device is Garmin Venture HC with all firmware up to date. I am running build #175 of maccaching.

Thank you for your help.

I posted to the forums, but wasn't sure if you wanted the comments here specifically.

Thanks for the swift response. I was not able to fully test it yesterday. What did happen was that sending anything to the HC froze MacCaching and ejected the gps. In order for the computer to see the gps, I needed to completely reboot the computer.

I was going to try the original build to see if it also ejected the gps.

I'll be able to test it at home - after 3pm EDT.

OK - here's the results of the tests I did today.

1) Deleted all MacCaching programs & repaired permissions
2) Downloaded & Installed the stable version
3) Attempted to send one gpx to Garmin HC
4) Message "this may take a few minutes", spinning ball, not responding
5) Force Quit & reboot to reinstall Garmin

6) Tried again this time eliminating the GC
7) Error "gpsbabel quit unexpectedly"

Deleted stable version of MacCaching
9) Installed HC version
10 ) Repaired permissions
11) Attempted to send on gpx to Garmin HC
12) Message "this may take a few minutes", spinning ball, not responding
13) Force Quit & reboot to reinstall Garmin

I am able to get the caches sent to my gps directly from Geocaching.com - so I know the Communicator software is working.

**Also know that MacCaching works - I was able to export to Cachemate on my Palm**
